I'm specialised in breast reconstructions where the breast can be even completely rebuilt. Surgery demands a lot of focus, but you still never feel tired in the operating theatre – the demanding nature of the work is the spice of life. Completing a challenging operation successfully is like solving a puzzle: there is always the joy of success.
I trained as a surgeon at Päijät-Häme Central Hospital, then specialised in plastic surgery at Töölö Hospital. I have been working as a plastic surgeon since 2012, particularly specialising in breast reconstructions. I strive to master all the different techniques in breast reconstruction so that the right approach can be chosen according to each patient's individual needs.
In my spare time I like to sculpt and paint. I feel that these hobbies and my work are united by creativity as well as the satisfaction of a very successful result. The difference in plastic surgery, though, is that the limits of imagination are set by nature. The best thanks come from the patient's mouth when they feel genuinely helped.
The results of every treatment are always individual, but for me it is important that the result is not too conspicuous. It's a great feeling when my patient can look better, brighter and more youthful, without anyone being able to say directly whether anything has been done or not – as if it was a mystery.
