Removal of skin changes

Skin changes can include, for example, moles, which are suspected to be malignant, and various types of warts. Several changes may appear at the same time. However, the treatment of skin changes is ultimately a simple procedure.

Disturbing skin changes, such as moles and warts, can be removed under local anaesthesia by cutting and, in some cases, also with a laser.

A mole should be removed if there is any suspicion that it may be malignant. Moles are also removed if they are considered to be aesthetically bothersome or if they are large and prone to rubbing.

With age, so-called fatty warts or age warts may also accumulate on the skin, which can grow to a size of several centimeters and itch. There may be dozens or even hundreds of these changes. These harmless skin changes can be shaved off the surface of the skin without the need for stitches. The area is usually numbed, which also reduces bleeding. The shaved areas are covered with tape and kept clean. The skin surface heals in a few days.

Removing skin lesions is an outpatient procedure.
