Correcting breast asymmetry and deformities is the most demanding type of breast surgery.
Correcting breast asymmetry and deformities is one of the most demanding tasks in breast surgery. There is no single surgical method; instead, surgeries must always be tailored to each individual case. Patients are often young and very distressed by the condition, which causes not only physical but also psychological and social problems. Correction of uneven breasts usually involves a breast lift or augmentation, or alternatively, augmentation of the other breast with an implant or fat transfer. Sometimes, correcting only one breast produces the desired result.
The goal of the correction is to achieve good symmetry, i.e., volume symmetry, where the breasts are the same size and fill the cups symmetrically. Good shape symmetry is also desirable, but this can be difficult—sometimes even impossible—to achieve due to the different anatomical structures of the breasts.
The surgeries are performed under general anaesthesia, and patients can usually go home on the same day.
Improvement is checked after one month and the final result six months after surgery.
Polland syndrome is a rare condition characterized by breast deformity or smallness and asymmetry combined with absent or underdeveloped chest muscles. Correction is always planned on a case-by-case basis.
The price of the procedure includes 1-2 follow-up visits with the doctor, one piece of necessary support fabric, and a possible stitch removal/wound care visit with our nurse.
