Localized fat deposits under the chin can be easily removed with liposuction.
The chin is a typical place where excess fat can accumulate. Fat accumulates in the triangular area under the chin, causing the jawline and chin to disappear. When the jawline is lost, the neck appears to continue straight to the tip of the chin. This can be easily tested by looking at your side profile in the mirror and pinching the area under the chin with your fingers: if there is 1–1.5 centimeters of tissue between your fingers, liposuction may help to eliminate the problem.
Local fat deposits can be removed with chin liposuction. It should be noted that liposuction is not suitable for all situations: if the skin is loose and stretched, liposuction may not produce the desired result. Therefore, during the consultation, our doctor will assess which treatment is most effective for the condition in question. Sometimes a neck and lower face lift can help, and in men, local surgical removal of the double chin can also be considered.
Fat removal from the chin area is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The procedure is virtually painless and takes less than an hour. You can go home immediately after the surgery.
Before surgery, it is advisable to treat the skin to the best possible condition. The thickness and elasticity of the skin can be improved, for example, with Environ vitamin A creams. After surgery, recovery and the disappearance of bruises and swelling can be accelerated with lymphatic massage.
After the surgery, the chin is kept in a supportive bandage or tape for a week, around the clock. Bruising and swelling disappear within a few weeks, but it may take up to a few months for the subcutaneous scar to soften. Problems after liposuction are rare.
It should be noted that liposuction does not achieve a long chin. Fat deposits can be reduced, but liposuction does not change the basic shape of the chin in any way.
The price of the procedure includes one follow-up visit to the doctor and any necessary stitch removal/wound care visits.
