Bichectomy is a procedure that removes fat deposits from the cheeks.
Bichectomy involves removing part of the fat collection inside the cheek, also known as Bichat's fat pad, through the mucous membrane. The procedure narrows the front of the cheeks and slightly accentuates the cheekbones, affecting the aesthetic line of the cheeks.
The procedure must be performed with caution and consideration to avoid excessive emphasis on the hollows of the face. For this reason, the surgery is not suitable for people with very slim faces. In recent years, this procedure has received negative publicity specifically for the above-mentioned reason.
If necessary, bichectomy can be combined with, for example, fat removal from the chin and lower face, resulting in narrower features across the entire lower face area.
The price of the procedure includes one follow-up visit to the doctor and any necessary stitch removal/wound care visits.
