Forehead and eyebrow lift

Talk about forehead lifts usually refer to eyebrow lifts. There are many different ways to perform this procedure, depending on the desired overall result.

Instead of a forehead lift, an eyebrow lift is a more accurate name, as the procedure is usually aimed specifically at changing the position of the eyebrows. Surgery on the transverse lines of the forehead is less effective, and with age, everyone's eyebrows gradually droop. Due to the anatomy of the forehead and eye area, some people begin to experience drooping at a relatively young age.

There are several methods for raising the position of the eyebrows:

Eyebrow attachment, or pexia

In eyebrow lifting, the eyebrow is attached to the bony edge of the eye socket through an incision made in the upper eyelid. The lifting effect is often moderate, and the procedure is best suited for mild cases in connection with upper eyelid surgery. A positive aspect is that the scar on the upper eyelid usually heals to the point of being almost invisible.

Open eyebrow lift

In open eyebrow lifting, an incision is made above the edge of the eyebrow on the forehead skin, from which an appropriate amount of forehead skin is removed. The eyebrow is then lifted to its new position.

The lift is quite effective and stays in place quite well. The downside of an open eyebrow lift is the scar that remains in the area.

Previously, the procedure was only performed on older people due to concerns about scarring. However, current dermapigmentation techniques (e.g., microblading) are often so effective that they can also be used to cover scars on younger people.

Open forehead lift

In an open forehead lift, the incision is made at or behind the hairline. The choice of incision site depends on the height of the forehead.

If the incision is made at the hairline, a high hairline can be lowered in conjunction with a forehead lift. If, on the other hand, the hairline is low, the incision can be made behind the hairline, which will raise the hairline slightly in conjunction with a forehead lift.

The scars formed during an open forehead lift usually heal to become fairly inconspicuous, and the lifting effect of the surgery is generally good.

Endoscopic lift

In an endoscopic forehead lift, small incisions are made behind the hairline. The forehead lift is then performed through these small incisions using an endoscope.

The advantage of surgery is that the scars are small and practically invisible. In endoscopic lifting, the hairline is moved back slightly along with the eyebrows. This should be taken into account when choosing the surgical method.

The price of the procedure includes one follow-up visit to the doctor and any necessary stitch removal/wound care visits.
