Hair transplants can be used to cover balding areas.
Hair transplants are suitable for people in good health. Hair transplants can be used to add hair to balding areas, most commonly on the top of the head or receding hairline at the front. Hair transplants are most commonly sought by men aged 25-60.
Hair transplantation is performed under local anesthesia, and painkillers and sedatives are administered as needed. During the operation, a graft of the required size is taken from the neck and divided into smaller grafts under a microscope. The grafts are implanted one by one into the desired area according to a pre-planned design. The surgery takes several hours or even a whole day, depending on the amount of hair to be transplanted.
Normally, a small light mark remains on the neck, which is hidden under the hair. The hair transplant is in a resting phase immediately after the surgery. The hair begins to grow after 3-6 months, and the final result of the hair transplant can be seen 9-12 months after the surgery, depending on the individual growth rate of the hair.
Painkillers are administered during the procedure, so driving is not permitted after surgery. Follow-up care includes a course of antibiotics and pain medication for any wound pain. After the treatment, there may be swelling and bruising in the head area. However, swelling is individual and its amount and duration vary. The stitches are removed approximately two weeks after the procedure, and the final result of the hair transplant will be visible in approximately 9-12 months. The result is permanent, although hair loss may continue in other areas of the head, in which case new transplants may be necessary.
Problems after hair transplantation are rare. Very rarely, a so-called shock reaction occurs, causing temporary thinning of hair around the donor site. Scar spreading may also occur.
The price of a hair transplant is calculated based on the number of hairs to be transplanted.
