Tattoo removal

To whom is tattoo removal suitable for?

Tattoo removal can be performed on various types of tattoos, both multi-colored and single-colored, in different areas of the body. The only limiting factor for surgery is usually the size of the tattoo. For example, it is not advisable to surgically remove tattoos covering an entire limb, as the scars left by the surgery would be too extensive.

How is tattoo removal performed?

At Sairaala KL, tattoo removal is performed by cutting. Depending on the size and shape of the tattoo, it can be removed in a single session in the best case, but often several partial removals are necessary to treat the entire area in the best possible way. Surgical tattoo removal always leaves a permanent scar.

How should I prepare for tattoo removal and aftercare?

Typically, successful tattoo removal requires several treatment sessions, depending on the size of the tattoo, of course. A new removal can be performed once the wound and skin have healed properly. The longer the interval between procedures, the better. Treatment sessions are usually spaced at least 6 months apart. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, and you can go home immediately after the procedure.
