Intimate surgery is becoming more and more common. The reason for seeking surgical treatment can be discomfort caused by enlarged or asymmetrical labia, which, for example, causes disturbance when playing sports or getting dressed.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, or sometimes under general anaesthesia in conjunction with other procedures. Usually, excess tissue is removed from the inner labia on an individual basis, and the incisions are closed with dissolvable sutures. If necessary, other procedures can also be combined with the surgery, such as reshaping large labia with fat transfer.
In aftercare, it is important to emphasize good hygiene on the surgical area. You can move around carefully immediately, but it is recommended to avoid prolonged sitting for 1-2 weeks, which may limit sedentary work and driving. Full recovery takes 4-6 weeks.
You are welcome to my office to discuss the procedure!
